Nicole Schiener of Peace and Possibility

Mothering was so much harder than I expected, especially after the birth of my second baby.  No one was sharing about these struggles so I felt alone. It takes a village not just to raise a child but to nurture a mother but so many new moms have been cut off from their village due to the Pandemic. This is why I started my private practice and joined the Waterloo Region Team's Climb Out of the Darkness- the world's largest event for mental health of new families. We are raising awareness about the challenges of the post partum period, raising funds and helping others feel less alone.

Operated by Postpartum Support International. The Climb is a community walk and international fundraiser for survivors, providers, and members of the community to come together and shine a light on what is often hidden in the darkness. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are the most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth. Any amount you can offer goes a long way towards supporting new parents in our community.

We provide direct peer support to families, train professionals, and provide a bridge to connect them.
